Why Bad Relationships Get Repeated
Do you find yourself repeating bad relationship patterns? According to a study on over 500 people, reported in the Journal of Family Psychology, while relationships often start out differently, the middle part tends to repeat the same pattern as with previous partners.
People who experience a lot of negative emotion with one person are likely to experience a lot of negative emotion with another.
Why? According to researcher, Dr Mathew Johnson, even if you change relationships, ‘you are still the same person, so you are likely to create many of the same relationship patterns with the next partner.”
If you want to change your relationship, you need to change yourself. To adapt Ghandi’s famous quote: Be the change that you want to see in your relationship.
