This Sleep Habit Cuts Depression Risk By 40%
Going to bed and waking earlier can reduce the risk of depression by 40%.
The benefits are greatest for people going to bed late.
For example, if you usually go to bed at 1am and wake up at 8am, going to bed at 11pm and waking up at 6am could significantly reduce your risk of depression.
According to researcher, Dr Celine Vetter, “even one-hour earlier sleep timing is associated with significantly lower risk of depression.”
One of the reasons might be greater exposure to daylight which change hormones that effect mood.
